More information please....
Hello all!
I just joined this group and was hoping some of you seasoned professionals could answer some questions for me. I have been researching notary signing as a possible part time income and have a ton of questions. First let me state I am a commissioned notary in Nevada; however, I haven't made use of my commission for the last 2.5 years and really only ever used it in-house at a construction business notarizing contracts. So literally I have notarized like 5 signatures over and over again. Anyway, I was chatting with a gal on another message board that stated she was a mobile notary signing agent and had been for the past eight months. I inquired as to what a signing agent was and how she was trained. She explained briefly and stated she was trained through nationalnotary.com. I am actually surprised that there is a market for this as I always thought title companies had in-house notaries and that the loan documents were signed and notarized there. Goes to show what I know.
So this leads to my questions, first what kinds of companies hire mobile notaries for loan signings? Are these like ditech or the other various brokers that allow application on-line? Second, I have been reading further on nationnotary.com and finding some of the more seasoned signing agents are opposed to the way they train newbies, so I am curious if there is a better resource for being trained appropriately. Also, I think it is signingagents.com indicates membership includes access to a mentor in your state. Could anyone give me more info on this company and if their program/membership is worthwhile. They indicate they have training available but don't go into much detail. Also, for those of you that are signing agents in Nevada, particularly Las Vegas, how is the market?
Thanks in advance. I look forward to any advice you can give.
