Elite Signing Services, Cary, IL. Strikes Again

Even though I am a senile farm boy from Iowa, my wife swears I am from Missouri (The Show Me State), I disregarded all of the negative posts concerning Elite Signing Services in Cary, IL on this board and numerous others, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and do a signing for them on May 10, 2004. I have mailed numerous invoices, faxed numerous invoices and called (the accounts payable dept. is not in but you can leave a message). I was told on 7/6/04 by the individual answering the phone that my check went out the week of June 28, 2004. This same individual spent time complaining to me that she had just been chewed out by a Notary for non-payment (imagine that!).

I have been self-employed for 21 years and can't believe that a professional organization would treat their independent contractors in this matter--I would have been out of business and broke many years ago.

I advised ESS that I intended to notify the Better Business Bureau, the Title Company and my attorney if I did not receive payment within 10 days and I haven't heard from them--this will happen tomorrow.

For all newbies and experienced professionals--this Company shows no desire or motivation to pay me or obviously numerous others. What is posted on the Notary Boards is accurate.

I apologize for rambling, but I needed to vent. Stay clear of Elite Signing Services in Cary, IL.

I am sorry to hear of your experience with this company. You caught me JUST in time, I was about to sign up with them to possibly do business with them. THANK YOU! AGain, I am sorry. Hopefully your lawyer can help with this matter.
I was born in Cedar Rapids, IA..what part are you in? I currently reside in Arizona.

I have signed up with Elite Signing Service as well. In their contract, it states that checks will be issued within 45 days. You did a closing on May 10, 2004 and the check went out on June 28, 2004 thats within 45 days. I also did a closing for them on May 14th and was paid on July 2nd. which is also within 45 days. When you sign up with a company and you should look at the fine print to find out how and when you get paid.

In addition, I had signed up with another company and didn't realize that I had to submit an invoice every month to get payment.

As far as Elite Signing Services in Cary Ill, I think that they are one of the best companies to work for. They are polite, patient, the docs are normally sent to the borrower ahead of time so that they can review, every thing is entered on line. ITS GREAT!

I believe you are in the minority. Over the past couple of years all I have seen abut Elite Signing Service in Cary,ILL has been negative.
A couple of years ago, one of their employees - apparently a relative - embezzled from them, but they have been using that excuse for two years as a reason they have not been able to pay notaries.

There is another Elite Signing located in Kansas City, MO that is not connected with Elite in Cary, ILL and they are a good company. It has got to the point when Elite in MO calls notaries for signings they have to assure them that they are not the Elite in Cary, Ill.

Jennifer, thank you for the response. I was told by Elite Signing that the check went out June 28th and today is July 21 (I believe this is longer than 45 days) and I have not received any payment. I did not sign up with this company but rather accepted the signing from the Notary Rotary web site. I have been a Notary Public in the State of Iowa for 17 years and I assure you I read the fine print, I have invoiced through the mail 4 times starting 6/7/04, faxed an invoice 4 times and called 2 times and was told their accounts payable department was not in.


I am glad you have had an enjoyable experience with Elite Signing Services in Cary, IL.--I assure you that I haven't!!

I am a notary and signing agent in Alabama and on May 11, 2004 I conducted a signing for Elite Signing, Services, Inc. of Cary, IL. Unfortunately I found this website too late to be warned about this company's non-payment tactics. However, just like the other negative reports I have read, this company informed me on numerous occasions and as recent as today, I was told a check went out on June 21, 2004, but I have yet to receive it. Of course, no one is ever available in their accounting dept. because either they are not in yet or have just left each time I've called. When I informed the person on the phone that I was tired of getting the run-around, she said there was nothing she could do a hung up on me. Other than reporting them to be Better Business Bureau, I don't know anything else that can be done, but this certainly will make it hard for me to deal with any new companies.
