Please allow me to vent!

I received a call 2 days ago from a SS to schedule a signing for today. The signing was e-docs and I told the "gentleman" what my fee was. He said he was sorry but he was only authorized to pay $___. I apologized and informed him that my fees were not negotiable and thanked him for calling. The next day this same "gentleman" called to schedule the same signing. When I reminded him of the conversation we'd had the day before he said he could not pay my fee. A few hours later he again called me saying he was able to get approval for my fee and asked if I was still available. I indicated that I was and accepted the assignment. The signing was scheduled for 12:00 noon today. At 9:00 p.m. that evening I got a call from this same company (different person) asking if the loan had closed. I informed her that it had not because it was scheduled for the following day. She said "OH" and hung up.

Now it's the day of the scheduled signing and I get a call @ 10:30 a.m. from the "gentleman" saying the lender wanted to push back the signing til 5:00 p.m. and was I available. I said I was and he sent me another confirmation. At approx. 2:00 p.m. I get another call saying the signing was rescheduled for 7:00 p.m. - was I still available? Yes, however, he did not send me a new confirmation. At 4:30 p.m. he calls again - says the lender wants to push it back to 8:00 p.m. At this point I'd had enough and finally realized what was going on.

He could not find anyone in my area to do the signing during the day - not many agents offer 24 hour service here - but he could find someone willing to accept his rate to do the signing later in the evening and so he was trying to get rid of me. I've read of this type of thing happening to others on this board but this is the first time since I've been doing this (over a year) that it's happened to me.

Needless to say the next time this company calls I will remind them of this day - and graciously decline.

Thanks for listening - I feel better already.

They called me and asked me to do a e-mail signing for 75.00!!! And would I accept 25.00 no sign no show fee!%@$#@#$ And then when I told the young man I don't do e-mail documents for 75.00 and told him my fee he got angry and acted as though 75.00 was a lot. Then I said anyway I refuse to agree . . ever to a 25.00 (after printing out the package mind you!) no sign or no show fee! He said well then I will call another agent. Unbelievably there are agents out there willing to work under those conditions. Absolutely outrageous!

Let's try this in another scenario - Say you need the services of a certified plumber. You call the plumber and say your kitchen sink in clogged. He tells you he charges $100.00 to unclog sinks. If you were to tell him "I'm sorry I only pay $50.00 for that service." not only would he laugh at you and immediately hang up, you would still have a clogged sink. Why should I accept a lesser fee when I have earned the right to charge said fee? Nope, ain't gonna do it!!!!!!

I understand your frustration. I currently have 3 outstanding invoices for "no-signs" that were promised "X" fee or 1/2 fee in the event customer doesn't sign. I've printed 2 sets of docs each and driven to the borrowers homes. If I've learned anything in this business, it's that a company can and will tell you anything to get you to agree to the assignment, but when it comes to paying you; well, that's a different story. I know you sometimes have to "eat" costs in business, but I'm about to get full with some of these jokers.

/grrr...rant,rant,rant..
