e-fax & On Line Services
Hello Pros:
Reading the numerous experiences are a great help and inspiration. I am a new kid on the block and I have 2 questions:
(1) I received a signing directly from a title company by e-fax. Being that this was my first assignment and caught off guard, when ask my fee I quoted a flat fee, however, when I got the documents, it was about 60 pages and they required a copy to be given to the borrower, which came to about 120 pages total. Also the next morning, before leaving I received about 5 additional pages that needed to be pulled out and reinserted with the new pages. How should I have handled this situation.
(2) Is it really safe to give out personal information to all of the companies online posing as signing companies.? I am soooo skeptical of fakes, especially out of state. Any suggestions? When checking with Better Business Bureau a lot of these companies are not registered.
Please help
I'm a nervous reck

When I quote my fee, if it is going to be edocs then I also tell them my fee for edocs. (My "flat fee" does not include edocs) A 60 page edoc package is fine (I have them over 100 pages sometimes), and you always have to make copies for the borrower - and make sure you print out enough RTC''a and TIL's. Each person gets 2 copies of the RTC and 1 copy of the TIL.
They often fax over the HID and title company docs separately as the edocs are usually just the lenders docs.
Sometimes there will be revisions, and I do them as a courtesy.
A far as signing companies, if you are unsure about any one ask in here and someone will probably be able to tell you if they are good or bad.
