transunion signing
oops , sorry I accidently hit the enter key and sent a blank message. Has anyone done a signing for transunion ? They called me to do a closing tommorrow which I accepted and when going on their webpage I seen that they charge a one time fee of $40.00. ??

The "one time" fee is for a background check. Just do not authorize it. I have done a few for them lately, and I have told them they better not take $40 out of my check for a background check.

Thank you for responding back. Are they okay to work for? I did call them about the fee and they said they dont take it out unless you authorize the background check.

it is too soon to tell how soon they pay.
I did a lot of work for Atlantic Closings. I was in their database with a base fee of $75. Then they were aquired by Trans Union, and I was assured that nothing would change, I would still be working with them, and at the same base fee. Then I get a call from them, and they would only pay $50 - so I turned them down. Hadn't heard from them in a long time, then they called me a couple of weeks ago and agreed to my fee, I have done 3 or 4 for them since then, but it is too early to see if they pay timely or not.

They called me for a signing last week & met my fee however, I did not get a conf. from them that night. I called the next am and was told it must have been assigned to another notary. I thought it was a little flakey.

I have done lots for TU in 2003. They pay like clockwork.
But, I gracefully bowed out in 2004 because of their $40 background-check policy.
Lo, they have called me several times in 2004..met my fees and no $40 background-check fee.
May it continue !
