Formatting program
Will someone who is much more knowledgeable than I (which, as far as I can tell, includes virtually everybody on this board and maybe even their kids) tell me what kind of program creates documents with an extension of .gmd? I had to reschedule a signing today (reluctantly, I agreed to accept e-dox, and once again my judgment of the whole e-doc process was confirmed) because I don't have that program, and neither does Kinkos. And, second question, where to I get it? I could not find anything that looked like a .gmd real estate document creation program on the web.

How about http://www.gmd.com? It looks like they might be responsible for the .gmd extension. Printing and viewing software are available on this page:

I've never seen the format, so consider this a shot in the dark...

You were right on. Thanks. Do you also do windows? Or maybe, considering the medium we are in right now, that should be Windows.

As Harry pointed out, www.gmd.com is your source. GMD is from Guardian Mortgage (for those who didn't know). When you received your email with either the link or the file, you should have also received a link to download the print utility. If you didn't, maybe a friendly note to the ss, title or lender that sent you the email would be in order so other notaries following in your footsteps won't be put into the same predicament.

Thanks to Harry, I've got the web site to download the .gmd print/view program. The dox came to the title company from the lender, and my contact there was unfamiliar with the program. I shall pass you suggestion on to them.
