Opps I hit the button too soon. sorry I just received a call from a Signing service wanting me to complete a signing for $30.00 travel plus $10.00 per Notary. I don't understand why they would even try. I positively said no.
Just thought I would share. If any Notaries are accepting these jobs they are crazy and bringing down the price for the rest of us.

Let's see: They offered $30 travel fee, plus $10 per notarization. For the average 8-10 notarizations in my average packet, that figures out to well over $100. I'll take that company's business.

Out of all the Loans I have completed so Far the most number of Notarizations have only been 5 one signer. With my luck I was afraid it would have been one with only 2 (which I have had as well). LOL

Good money in CT ....
If it is not a "signing agent" fixed service fee, which includes travel, notarizations and courier service to return documents, it's good money in CT.
For a "regular" notarization assignment, CT allows 35 cents per mile and a Maximum of $5 per notarization. Turn that assignment into a "How many notarization are there? Ok. Then I will do it for a fixed rate of X dollars." If I agreed to a per notarization fee, I would NOT be allowed under state law to charge more than 35 cents per mile.
If you didn't already do so on this call. When you get this type of call, ask specifically what needs to be done. Many borrowers are now receiving packages directly and must find their own Notary Public (not a Notary Siging Agent).

Not bad in FL either...
@ $10 per stamp and all the Title Affs., I average 6.5 Stamps per loan. Ask questions!!! You might be missing out on a good thing.

In CA we can charge $10 for each signature notarized. If there are two borrower's and they each need 3 docs notarized (say a DOT, Sig Aff, and Compliance Agreement), you are looking at $90. Depending on how far they want you to go, I'd say it sounds like a deal. That is what I charge for someone calling off the street for a single doc. If there are 8-10 as Hugh said, you're looking at close to $200 or more for two borrowers.
