NEW AND NEED HELP
Ok guys, I am Newbie here. I signed up for notary rotary, filled out my information and all. Do I just sit and wait for companies to call me or do I need to sign up individually for each signing company? If I do have to signup with each company individually, how do I do it? I am very confused here. Please feel free to email me with any and all help. My email address is [e-mail address]. Thanks guys!

You have to sign up. You may get the occasional call from somebody who found you on here, but it's probably going to be a very small percentage of your business. If they have a website, go to it and it should have the info on how to sign up. If there's no website listed email or call them and ask how to get added to their database.
Registering with signing services is one of the more tedious aspects of becoming a signing agent, but it is a necessary evil to get started. It took about 2 months for me to get my first call after I started registering. I'm sure others got called much quicker.
Also, take the time to read through the old messages in here. You'll find plenty of discussions about which companies to avoid. Take them seriously and don't waste your time signing up with them. There are plenty of reputable companies out there, put your effort towards those instead.

Re: Also ...
Get yourself into some of the directories such as 123 Notary and 50 State Notary. I had to turn down 3 jobs within the first week of having registered with 123 Notary. My stamp was on order but hadn't arrived yet and I had never imagined I would have been contacted so quickly. Good Luck.

Re: Also ...
Jennifer - I didn't purchase a membership - it was free because of the lack of notaries in my area. Good luck. Ann Marie

Re: Also ...
The W-9 is necessary. Among other things, 123Notary and Notary Rotary provide a junction between title companies/closing companies and signing agents. TCs/CCs come to 123Not and NotRot to find signing agents; SAs come to them to advertise to the TCs/CCs and to get leads on which companies need signing agents.
