Can any one tell me how to get a notary signing job?

I am also a Florida notary, and have been contacting as many signing agents as possible, writing letters, trying all kinds of contacts to get a signing position, its been 3 months now that I've made the initial investment, and haven't gotten a response yet. I'm told to be patient. I'd love to hear other suggestions.

My suggestion is to take classes first. You cannot just be a signing agent. You need to know what you are doing. There are to many people that want to be signing agents that do not know what it consists of. It is not easy work for the money. Another thing signing companies want responsible notaries not just notaries. Take some courses, get fimiliar with ALL the forms not just some and Good Luck to you

Thank you for the suggestion. I am a real estate assistant with 2 years experience in residential closings. I do convey this information with signing agencies. Oh well

I agree with you on all that you stated. However, you have to get yourself advertised on some of the websites.....This one is good....also 123 notary gets alot of attention from the SS's. When one calls I usually ask where they got my name from (unless they say at the beginning) and that tells you who to renew advertising with.

Re: Need business - Tessie
You do not have t advertise on any website! Go to websites looking for Notary Signing Agents....apply at the site or make a phone call inquiring what you need to do to be put in their database...once you receive an assignment, your work should be above anyone's stndads - thyey will call you back with more work & the lenders that use a signing service will like your work & request that the SS uses you again and again, it the borrowers are in your area. It is helpful to demonstrate that you are interested in continuing education to enhance and shapen your skills. **Also, become Certified...many companies like the fact that you had t study and are more familiar with loan docs. Good luck & why pay to advertise on someone's website...if you are Certified you automatically are placed on the NNA website underthe Notary Signing AgentCommunity & it is free. Excuse any typos.

"To each, his own" What works for some may not work for all. I'm happy with the business I get from the "paid sites" the S.S.'s have said that was where they found me. From there you get to be known by the SS when you preform your work well and make the Borrowers and Lenders happy. That's how you get repeat calls. If you spend $19.95 for a year of advertising you get that back 5 fold usually on one signing. So what's the big deal??????

I see I'm not the only one suffering...I was real busy until I became certified then my business came to a halt! I hope this is not the problem. I assume that business is slow everywhere. Please, give me some feed back. Thanks

I am in Northern CA and have had a steady amount of signings - I've even had to turn some away & other Signing Agents have referred me when they were to busy totake on additional work.
I'm sorry to hear that some of you (in Florida) are lacking in business.

Hi Judy
I'm live in Benicia - I do signings in Solano, Napa, Contra Costa and San Francisco counties.
How has business been for you?

I have been a notary for 5 years before I picked up this side of the business, so I knew notary procedures. I joined 4 organizations, became certified and invested in the office equipment needed for e-docs. There is some up-front money to start any business. I think the main reason I get calls is because of experience and being a member with the 4 organizations. Get Notary agency's web addresses and title companies and spend a week filling out their contracts and faxing back. Contact, contact, contact. I even work when I don't have a signing always looking for new business. Get business cards and vist all the title services in your town. Go to loan companies and see if your experience is needed. Only you can make your business sucessful. Good Luck
