Fees in NJ
I just did a closing yesterday (refinance) and I charged $125 since is in my town, tomorrow I am doing another refinance and I am charging $150 is ten minutes away from my house. Are those fees ok in NJ, or how much should I be charging?????

Depends on what you did. Were the docs sent e-mail, therefore, you had to print out and copy or overnighted?

YES THE DOCUMENTS WERE SENT VIA E-MAIL, BUT I JUST PRINTED THEM AND TOLD THE CLIENT THAT I WILL GET THE COMPANY TO OVERNIGHT THEM A COPY. I JUST GAVE THEM A COPY OF THE "RIGHT TO CANCEL" SHEETS.

Seems like a fair cost for e-mail docs, however I usually provide the borrowers with copies of the documents with a folder.
Tell me, if you charged that much for a town that you live in, what would you charge when you need to go out about 10 or 15 miles out? Most title companies and subcontractors either don't call you again or say they will call another notary if your fees are too high -- Just a tip.

If you are not making a full set for the borrower - although you should include the set for the borrower in your edoc fee (I charge $45 for the edocs plus the signing, so I print out copies for the borrower) - but if you are not making a full set you should make a copy of the HUD, two copies for each person on title of the the RTC, and a copy for each person of the TIL.
