New on the Block/ Wants work!

Well, here I go. I just became a Notary Signing Agent, and I would like to get some advice on how to get some work. I am eager and ready to go, I just need to be called! Any help you guys can give me would be deeply appreciated.

Go to the "company list" above and start calling companies. You can also start at the bottom of these posts and read everything to get an idea of who pays and who doesn't. Good luck, depending on where you are, you might need it.

Oh my! don't depress me. I live 30 minutes east of Chicago. This job is going to put some son through college! I also have a full time job. (single mom). I will go to the "company list" and start searching. Thank you

I don't think Loretta was trying to depress you. She was simply being honest and not getting your hopes up unnecessarily. By all means, don't quit your full-time job.

Bonnie,

Don't be depressed. Be determined.

Loretta is right about some areas being saturated. But, her post should not be a determination of whether or not you are going to push your own business forward. Understand that you are one of many who have come this way to find ways to meet important financial goals.

Keep your eyes on a vision of graduation and seeing that boy get his diploma!

You will be amazed at the "outside of the box" thinking you can employ to turn that future goal into one of your fondest memories and greatest accomplishments.

Button on your "tough skin" and decide you'll do whatever it takes to get to the place you need to go. Enjoy your journey of finding extra income for a worthwhile endeavor.

Remember Tom Hankins in A League of Their Own? He delivered the line: "There's no crying in baseball!" Apply that to this business and keep moving.

Advice for new notaries

Above the menu of posts, click the "First" button. Go all the way to the very first post in June 2003, "Welcome to the General Discussion Forum." Read all the way to the last post today. You will find your answer many times over in the intervening messages, along with far better information about being a signing agent than you’ll ever get from any certification course.
