Notary Seal

I'm very new at this - If one page document has 2 signatures (husband & wife), is the seal affixed twice?

Typically not. But, this depends on how the certificate(s) is(are) prepared. Normally, only one certificate is prepared, no matter how many signers. The stamp (seal) is applied to the certificate, so if there is only one certificate "covering" both signatures, then the seal would only be applied once.

Depending on your state, the certificate may need to identify, by name, each signer of the document. Thus your certificate would list each signer, but, again, only have one seal.
