I have had it with the Loan Signing. I did a signing for $50.00 in September because it was 2 miles away. I had to fax back 30 pages. The instructions stated to drop the documents immediately. The signing was at 7:00pm, so I did the fax backs that night and dropped the documents the next morning at 9:00am. They called me at 10:00 am the next morning to say they never got the faxes, would I refax it. I said I was on the road and would not be back until last that night and that I had already dropped the documents. She said you did what? I said, I already sent the docs back. She then hung up on me because I would not drive back home to re-fax the docs. The next day I got a message on my answering machine that the fax had been found. Now I finally get paid and they crossed out the $50.00 on my invoice and changed it to $40.00. I am just now getting checks from companies that I did work for in August. One that had not paid me even had the nerve to ask for a donation for a hurricane victim. I was a hurricane victim too. I had already gotten training to do insurance, FEMA and HUD inspections, so I have been doing that along with the Loan Signing. Now the Loan Signing is not worth my time anymore. I had three calls today, and I said NO WAY

I don't blame you at all. I'm done with Servicelink myself due to their lowball fees & horrible "junk" lenders. Last time they called me, they wanted a signing done 160 miles round trip for $65. I thanked them for their previous business and asked them to please remove me from their list. Big deal. They've called 3 times in 5 months. Newbies: Servicelink is all yours...lotsa luck!

I did the same thing. Once they lowered their max fee to $65 it limited the areas that I would do signings for them. But, there are areas that I will go to for $65 so I didn't think too much of it, I just figured I'd be saying no to them more often. And their $15 edoc fee meant that I wouldn't accept edoc signings for them anymore.
What pushed me over the line was a signing that required about 30 pages of faxbacks, combined with their new policy of calling the notary before the signing to go over the basics of how to do a signing (make sure the borrower signs his name exactly how it appears, etc.) I asked why they were telling me all this when I've done about 600 signings, and have done about 25 or 30 for their company. I was told this was the policy now, there were too many mistakes being made, and that it was going to be done on every signing. I asked her who to contact to get removed from their database and she transferred me to their voicemail. I left a message stating that I had "outgrown" them, that I was not about to waste my time having the basics of how to conduct a signing explained to me on each job that I did for them, and wished them luck with all of the new notaries that they'd end up having to use in the future.
They did call me for another job about a week ago, I told them I was supposed to have been removed from their database. She apologized and said she would take care of it. Didn't even ask me why, I have a feeling that she already knew the answer.
Of course, the irony is that their new policies, which are apparently designed to minimize mistakes by the notaries, are only going to lead to their experienced notaries refusing work from them which will leave a bunch of newbies who will make even more mistakes. Not the brightest business plan if you ask me, but if that's what they want, that's exactly what they'll get.

I went into my profile and was unable to delete it, but I removed all my contact information and then updated it. I too was insulted also about how they treated me like a newbie. They sent me a DVD to watch on how to do a proper signing. They asked for feedback on what I thought about it and I told them how I felt. I told them that I thought it was stupid.

Yeah, they've always been a pain in the butt with all the weird details of their loans. I didn't do too many signings for them, they met my fees, I figured I could deal with it every now and again. But once they went to a $65 max, combined with their decision to treat everybody like a first time notary, I decided life was too short to deal with their BS.
If you ever decide to give them the heave-ho make sure you tell them exactly why. They need to know that their idiotic policies are costing them good notaries.

I'm intrigued by your e-mail story because I just got commissioned and have not done a signing yet but of course I was hoping to make BIG MONEY with this business! How's it going NOW? Did you abandon the biz all together or did you go back to it? How can I do HUD and FEMA inspections? I'm in IN. What's your state? Thank you.

Try Sofi and Hud.gov
http://www.hud.gov
Hi, Felise:
Do a search on Licensed Inspections.
That used to work. Not sure if it is still there or not...you have to attend certification training if I am not mistaken.
Do a search on "sofi inspection" on google. Look for the sofi site link. I forgot what it is.

Inspections - Also...see
Msg #4164 - read that thread.
Using the "orange search" button and doing a search on "field inspections" I turned up that result.
Margaret Craig's msgs are some of the better ones on this.
