who gives the business to signing companies??

Is it title companies or do lenders contact them directly? What about escrow co's, do they give them business as well

Yes, the Title Companies give them to the SS's, this way they do not have to keep a list of Nortaries and what city(s) they cover. This is a one stop deal, they can have the SS find a Notary in Oregon even if the Title Company is in Maine. Or direct lenders like B of A & Ditech just to name a few.
