Bonds In Maryland

Hello,
I was wondering if someone could please help me. I am a notary in Md and I recently passed the Title Producing Exam. I am in the process of filling out my application for my license and I have come across the section where I would need to get a surety bond. Could someone here offer some advice as to where to go to get a bond and how much coverage I need. Any other information would be surely appreciated!
Thanks so much!!!

I've been told to go to Chesapeake in Annapolis. You will need a $100,000 bond

Hey Art....Where are you located at in Maryland? We will be able to keep our rates up as long as we don't become bombarded by others that think they can "get rich quick". What really makes me mad are the people who write those books and promise something quick that in reality takes a long time to get established. I turned down a $60 one and they found someone else here to do it, I say "shame on that notary". Brad Swanson is at Chesapeake Ins in Annapolis. He is good to work with.

not sure where you live, but got mine thru the Barbour Group in Westminster MD. 410-876-9610. Bond was issued by Hartford Fire Insurance Company. $500/yr

I'm in Queenstown now, 10 miles east of Bay Bridge.

Re: Bond In Maryland - $250 a year

You need $100,000 in assets to back up the $100,000 bond, or a co-indemnitor who can help you out with that requirement.

E.R. Munro and Company in Pittsburgh, PA, offers the Maryland Title Insurance Bond for $250 a year if you have great credit. Call 412-281-0673.
