Advice for new notaries
Above the menu of posts, click the "First" button. Go all the way to the very first post in June 2003, "Welcome to the General Discussion Forum." Read all the way to the last post today. You will find your answer many times over in the intervening messages, along with far better information about being a signing agent than you ever got in your certification course.
Wake me up with a hot cup of herbal tea when you're through.

Reminds me of the story of two guys in a hot-air balloom who became hopelessly lost. The saw a man on the ground, manuevered the balloon near the man and shoulted, "where are we?" The man answered , "you are in a hot air balloon" The balloon then floated away. One occuopant said to the other, "that man must have been a lawyer. When the other asked "why do you say that?", he replied "the answer that he gave us was totally correct and totally useless" Nevertheless, Hugh, as usual, makes a good point. More specifically you might register with some of the "handholding" services such as Precission and Vital Signing. They will guide you through you first signings. After you get some signinficant experience, you will have more confidence. Like the man in New York who stopped a musician on the street and asked "how do you get to Carneige Hall?" The musicain replied "Practice , practice, practice".
