efax....
I am interested in getting efax. I got everything I need now to have my office in my car; the laptop with internet access and the fax/scanner. I think the best thing now would be to get the efax account so I can fax the necessary pages after I do a closing so that I can go ahead and fed ex or ups the package. Sometimes, after I go to the office and fax the required docs to the signing company, the overnight delivery has already come and I can't send the docs until the next day. Does anyone have any comments or suggestions about this? I want the best and most efficient closing service that I can have.

I have efax and I'm very happy with the service. There's another similar service called Maxi Mail or something similar that others in here seem to be very happy with and apparently it's cheaper. I don't want to change my fax # so I'm sticking with efax.
What is the big deal about sending the docs out the next day? If I have an appointment early enough to get the docs out the same day I will, but if they want faxbacks and I've got other appointments, they're just going to have to wait for the docs to go out the next day. It's never been a problem, most companies don't really expect to receive the docs until 2 days after the signing.
It's great that you want to be good and efficient, but it sounds like you're going a little overboard to me.

I also have a title business so I am trying to keep on top of my title work. If someone has an emergency title that needs to be done (they pay me extra for that), I can check my email from my laptop in my car and if I can do the title while I am on the road and I can fax it from my car. Friday, I had several closings. I did a closing at 2pm and could not get back to my office before 4:45pm (the last UPS/Fed Ex pickup). I did not fax back the docs until 7pm and could not overnight the package until Saturday morning. Some companies that I do closings for are now deducting a penalty (usually $25) for sending docs a day late. I say to myself every now and then that I may be going overboard but alot of title companies appreciate me for taking the extra steps to make them a priority and I am the first closer on their list that they call. They also pay me $50 extra per title to do this for them.

I'm cancelling my e-fax account in Dec. because the $12.95/mo wasn't worth it - not enough activity to warrant it. I tried to cancel it this week, but I'm paid thru 12/21/04 and they will not give you a refund. I have a regular phone/fax that I use for outgoing faxes and a few pages of incoming faxes. I haven't had the occasion to receive documents on e-fax. I can handle e-docs and attachements like pdf files so I don't see a need for e-fax.
I'm switching my home phones to digital cable 11/7, but am leaving my office phone/fax on regular phone line because of the fax. The cable company (Time Warner) says they will have cable fax capability the 1st of the year. I may consider switching then cause I would probably be able to use the computer for faxes then.

You might try www.ureach.com and you can have a toll free fax & email all in one, with being web based or kept on via outlook.

The only reason that I am doing this would be to use it on my wireless laptop that I take with me on the road.
