Brother Laser Printer

Anyone out there have a 5150DLT? I seem to be having problems using both trays. And, yes, I did do a search.

I have a signing tonight with E-Docs. It's a Wells Fargo refi. I got a call yesterday aft from WF asking me what type of printer, etc. She e-mailed me the info to register with elynx, which I did last night. My printer had all the necessary requirements, memory, PCL 4 or greater. I downloaded their print utility and then tried to print their sample doc. It would not print from my legal tray. The whole document printed from my letter tray. That is the problem I'm having. I just don't think my printer has sensing capabilities, i.e. letter vs. legal. Do you have a Brother?

The 5150 does not have the onboard capabilitiy of distinguishing the size needed. The print utility must tell the printer which size to print. With PDF files, Acrobat will tell the printer which size to pull. Swiftview does not. I have never used elynx, so I don't know if it will tell the printer which size to print. Just load the legal in tray 1, and the letter in tray 2. Then, if the utility tells the printer which to pull, you will get both sizes. If not, you will get legal only.

That's what I ended up doing. I put the legal in tray 1. Elynx's print utility is not geared for Brother printers. Haven't done PDF files yet, will have to wait and see.
