Just a suggestion that has worked on occasion for me with slow-paying and non-paying companies. Before making the first call, fax an invoice with a filled-out W-9 form. It's astonishing how frequently those seem to get lost. If they don't have a W-9, they won't pay you. Cover that base first thing.

Hugh is right on the W-9 form. You will not get paid by the vast majority of signing or title companies without your w-9 submitted. It's as important as not going to any loan signing without a "confirmation letter." Without a confirmation letter you stand about a 90% chance of not being paid!!

DON'T DO ANYTHING (SUCH AS PICK UP DOCS AT TITLE, 2ND TRIP TO BORROWER, TRIP TO FEDEX TERMINAL TO PICK UP PACKAGE, ETC.) WITHOUT A CONFIRMATION LETTER!!!
