Double DOT
I've done a few Chase HELOC for one client, the last one I did had 2 DOT to be signed/notarized. I did call to make sure if it was printed 2x by mistake, but the client said its a new policy from Chase since DOT has somehow been prone to be the missing/misplaced doc from the package. Just wonder if anyone heard of this?

I've done many Chase HELOC's and some even have 3 DOT's. I have the borrower sign each and every one of them and also record them in my journal.

You beat
You know what they say about great minds Hope you had a nice holiday. I'm glad that I didn't have to spend it in Florida. Fortunately , it sounds like all or our sunshine state board buddies are ok.

Sometimes there are three Just sign and notarize all of them, except, of course for bwr copies. A lot of lenders are requiring multiple mortgages (DOTs) in case of loss of damage to the docs. Also that way they will still have an origingal while it is in the recording process.

The Chase HELOC's that I've done all have had 2 deeds of trust. With stuff like that I don't even try to understand the why of it. If they send it to me I figure it's for a good reason (not necessarily a logical reason though) and I just have whatever is in the package signed and notarized.
My recent personal favorite was a loan that I had to fill in the driver's license info on 4 separate documents. I cant' for the life of me imagine why they would need it in so many places, but I dutifully filled it in and sent it on its way.

Yes, and I commend the lenders that do it for figuring a way around us being asked to send in an additional notary certificate. It may have seemed harmless to them, but it was mucho trouble for the notary if it was used for the wrong thing.

That was my main concern, so the best I could do is check to see if the loan number on both copies matched.
