I think I'm Confused!!!

Tonight I did a signing that showed the wrong county on all the docs requiring notarization. I remember reading that the county should be the county where the signing took place. The docs were showing the county where the borrowers lived but the signing was held at the loan office. Now, I also remember that corrections should be avoided on docs that need to be recorded....... and what did I do?---corrected each doc to show the proper county. At the time I thought I should, but now I wonder if I did the right thing. I've done about 30 loans since I started in 2/04 and there are days when I really feel like I know what I'm doing and bang something new or odd pops up. I constantly read the state law, The Signing Agent Survival Guide and the NNA Certification Book but no book is going to cover every little issue or situation that's why you guys and ladies are so valuable.

Let me clarify what I meant. The notarization certificate should reflect where the notarization took place.

Re: The Signing Agent's Survival Guide ?

What is The Signing Agent's Survival Guide? Is it valuable and informative? Is it state specific or generic? Where do I find it? Thanks in advance for info.

While you're at it, Mimi, could you also send copies off to the residents of West Virginia, the Stanford University class of 2001, all title company employes within a 500 mile radius of Chicago, and the membership roll of the AARP? You're a dear.

Mimi - rather than get inundated with requests ...

Sorry Mimi,
I think I started something that's turning into a chore for you. A solution might be to upload the document to a server and supply a link where people can go to download it. If you do not have this capability, send it to me and I will do it and supply the link for people to access.

Are you talking about the notary sections of the documents or the docs in general? The only correction you should be making is in the notary section which you can change as needed.

Question:Are you talking about the notary sections of the documents or the docs in general?

I was talking about the information contained in the notary section.

Reply by aprils on 9/4/04 11:08am

Only the notary sections should be changed not any other section. Which docs or sections did you change?

Reply by Joan-OH on 9/3/04 8:09am
Msg #7283

The venue in your notary sections should be the county that you sign in and if it says a different county, it should be changed & initialed by you.

The county the property is in, as listed in the docs, such as the Mortgage, DOT, near the address of the property, etc, should not be changed to the county you sign in. You should only change the venue on your notary certificates.

This message must have been sent via telecorder from the makers of MindSpring at Austin Command Central. I can only assume that the academy has moved from its previous location in San Fransico, CA to Austin, TX. Has the StarFleet headquarters also moved? Intergalactic interpolation of the transmitting InterPlanetary (commonly abbreviated as IP) Address coordinates has located Riker in this request for reading materials for the crew.
