Looking For signing opportunities
I have been a notary for many years but was unaware of the opprtunities available. How do I get signed up with companies or find a listing of companies who would need my services? Are there websites? What is a good way to market myself.? and to who? Any information is appreciated

I, too, had been a notary for years before I learned about the opportunities available for mobile notaries.
My first instinct on how to reply to your posting is to say that if you have not already found out about the work available to you before you would post a question as the above, you are not cut out to be in business for yourself, or you do not have the necessary time to invest in the business at this time.
The best and sincerest advice I can give you for becoming successful in any business endeavor is to do the work to educate yourself about the opportunities **before** you go off "half-cocked" by signing up.
If you do not know what you are signing up for that will be perfectly clear in most cases and you will waste a lot of time and effort.
Though more considerate and helpful folks will probably disagree with me, I'd say Step 1 is to go to Google.com and do a search on "mobile notary" to see what comes up there. If you find yourself swamped with returned information and do not know where to start, try www.Vivisimo.com, another search engine tool, and my personal favorite. You can refine your searches down with greater ease and target information about your state.
Another clue as to how to get ideas of opportunity to which notaries can avail themselves to is to search your state's entire codified laws for the word "notary." Not only will you find valuable nuggets of information on how to do the job right (which is a must if you care about having your notary commission long term), you will get ideas on how you can scour the horizon for mobile notary work.
Step 2 is to read all the posts here that interest you--they will lead you to other informative websites.
If you are not willing to do the above, you probably will not make a viable income in the profession of being a mobile notary and should seek other ideas for income.
Best of luck to you.

Your information / mini education class on how to research the opportunities is very helpful. Thanks for taking the time to respond. Your information will give me a start and that's what I needed just a small seed to be planted. Information is a very powerful tool and we must learn from others- thanks for sharing

Thank you Donna,
I think it's because I'm not centrally located. I keep telling the signing services I don't mind the drive, but well.......
