More Signings for Newbie

I've been doing loan signings part time for a couple of years and I'm now trying to make it a full time career after recently being laid off. I have one title company that I work with and a couple of signing agencies. However I'm not getting as many signings as I would like. I see postings where people are turning down between 5-15 sigings. I only closed FOUR loans last month, granted it was hectic with the CHARLEY AND FRANCIS, but I still expected a little more. How do I increase my client base and see more signings. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

Market the hell out of yourself. Sign up with as many signing services as you possibly can. Have patience because it builds slowly and there's really no magic trick that gets the calls rolling in. We're also approaching the end of the year which isn't going to help, things will probably slow down between November and January.

Newbie, I think location plays a huge part since I didn't have a minute to myself between November and the middle of January....even had a call for an Xmas Eve signing. It was my first full year of signing. You need patience and the willingness to accept signings anytime or anywhere in your area. I initally accepted the $50 signings because I was new and wanted to build my business. As my experience has grown so have my fees. I've signed up with every agency I can and became certified. Keep at it and best of luck.

Have you signed up with as many signing companies as you can?
The Orlando area is saturated - heck most of Florida is saturated! A couple of years ago we had around 350,000 notaries in the State of Florida, now we have over 500,000! And a lot of the increase is due to the NNA recruitment efforts - their signing agent seminars.
All I can tell you is to persevere and sign up with as many signing companies as you can.

Have you paid to advertise on 123notary, gomobilenotary and notaryrotary? This year when I renewed these listings I upgraded to premium or top listing and it has made all the difference!

I am in FL too and have been doing this only a month now and I have to agree with everyone that marketing to everyone is the key! I am still marketing to this day! There are thousands of places to sign up with and thousands of title/escrow/lenders to contact nationwide. I spend a few hours a day signing up and finding new places to send my flyer to. You will get out only as much as your willing to put into this business, get you name out there. Keep plugging away and the calls will start to come in! Best of Luck! BK-FL
