Of Interest to Texas Signing Agents...

I received an email about a gathering in Houston next month. It looks like it might be one of the sparse opportunities in Texas to get insight, make some contacts and hand out cards. I am considering going.

If you want me to forward the email to you, whether you are in Texas or not, send an email to [e-mail address] or post your email here.

The email came to me just this morning from a local business that does nationwide courthouse record retrieval. I have not looked at the situation in depth, but wanted to share the info and let you make up your own mind on whether or not you thought it would be worth your while for the networking and marketing opportunity that may be there.

Since it did not say: “Tell everyone you know” I thought I should be careful not to put the content of the email into a forum that’s read by their competition, as well as, those of the escrow, title companies, lenders, and abstractors involved. I am sure it is no "big" secret, but I try to avoid stepping in “cowpatties” with potential clients when I can. I do not have a problem forwarding the email, but would appreciate it if you do not post the letter online for discussion.

On another note…for the first time, I met and visited with one of my own kind yesterday who was in the area on other business. It was a very good experience and I think we both learned a few things. (I did not ask if it was okay to mention it publicly so I’ll leave that to them.)

I would like to know a few other SA’s around Texas, but there are not many who post on the forums. If you are lurking and would like to say "Hello"-- I’d love to hear from you whether you want me to forward the email to you or not. Drop me a line.

As usual, I have to clarify some bit of minutia...

What I meant to say is that this forum >> might << be read by competitors...I have no way of knowing who reads this forum but considered it to be a possiblity. Probably does not even matter, but I have been sensitive to the feedback I have read regarding this issue under other cirumstances.
