White-Out & Conflicting Instructions Fun
The other day I did a package with these lender requirements in very LARGE print:
(1) Fill in blanks in docs with black ink, Example: names, dates, county, address. (2) Execute in blue ink
Ok...a little tedious, but you're the Boss. --- More Requirements:
(1)Borrowers MUST execute the Verification of Proof of ID (Except, the only place for a signature was mine - saying I had verified the ID, etc.--no line for the Borrowers.)
(2)DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES TO ANY DOCUMENT or have ANYONE sign where there is not a signature line for them!!!!! YOU MUST CALL US with any questionS about the documents or you will not be paid your full signing fee!!!!!!
Hmmmm...better call them about that Proof of ID just to be on the safe side. Maybe there is another form they want signed that is not here. Otherwise, they are saying (1) have the borrowers sign the Proof of ID, (2) don't.
---------------- And,
Included was a Designation of Homestead--a standard form. It came to me filled in with blue ink (rather than black) with the info regarding the borrowers (name, date, address.)
Not only was it filled in with the wrong color of ink, it also contained white out. The handwriting looked like cutesy 8th grade girl curly-q's. It was over-struck and messy to the point it was unclear where over-struck.
I knew if I had sent that back with white out on it and in mangled handwriting, it would have been kicked back and they would have sworn it was me that made the mess.
Alrighty... definitely call them and see if they want to send another one for me or borrower to write out. Left message.
I made a copy to use at the signing and cleaned it up. Had to get on the road.
----- They called me back on the way to the appointment. And, so exasperated with me that I'd dare to call for such a stupid thing.
Clearly, the attitude: "None of that really matters and you should know to do whatever to fix it without bothering me."
Me-thinking:
I do, but those are not the 42 pt ALL CAP I N S T R U C T I O N S, Sister!
I say, "Thank you! Have a good weekend!"
