info on drivers license

This may sound naive, but here goes...
When registering with signing companies some ask for a copy of your drivers license. I have been faxing a copy along with the rest of my info. Does it seem safe to you guys? Should I cross out some info? If so, what? Thanks for the help everyone.

IF IT IS NOT A LONG DISTANCE CALL I WOULD CALL THEM AND ASK IF THEY WOULD ADD THIS TO YOUR APPLICATION I AM SURE THEY UNDER STAND.

And what would you do if it were a long distance call?

I don't send a copy of the drivers license -- a copy of my commission is good enough.

If the company is adamant about getting copy of your license, most office supply stores sell pre-inked stamps. These stamps come in various text. Purchase one that says COPY and stamp it on the copy of your DL before you send it. These stamps usually are less than 2 or 3 dollars.

I also use this on the front page of the borrowers copy of docs. Not everyone is as intelligent as we would like to think so by stamping the doc there is never a question about who has the original.
