A what would you do Question

I received a call from ss I had not worked with before, she asked my fee I said 85. overnight she said oh we can't pay that we are a ss ,i said I'm sorry and was saying bye thanks for calling and very quickly said oh don't hang up,and said OK I'll have to then if you'll take 75. I said OK.
The next day docs never arrived I had 4 phone #s the only one that went thru was a cell phone for the LO I found it in a letter to the borrower, she checked on her home pc as she was not at work, first she said it was changed to Monday(this was Sat.)Who changed it I could not get. and she said go ahead and reshule with the borrowers, then I received another call from her and she said ups tired to deliver but it was a gated community and they could not get in,I told her no it was not it was a business and i asked her the address it was correct. So she said it will be redelivered Mon. I said ok.
My appt time was 1pm i tired calling borrower starting at 12:30 no answer so i left a message i tried until 1:30. He finally called me at 2:30 and asked where I was I explained what happened he was not happy and asked why I did not call his cell# I was not given your cell # i told him.Would you like to reschedule for Mon? He said ok after work ,so it is now for 4 pm Mon.
All the while it is very difficult to understand him as he is Spanish and speaking very broken English.
As the night went on he called back 2 more times as if we never had the first conversation!!!
I asked don't you remember I have already spoken to you about this? He only said ok Monday then.
I am really tempted to cancel Mainly because I think he really needs a Spanish speaking Notary.
Sorry this was Therapy Thanks for listening.

If it were me..... If there is enough of a language barrier to make me doubt that good communication and understanding can take place I would call the ss and let them know. It's really better for all parties concerned.

I have called many borrower's without knowing that they have limited english speaking skills. If you are not comfortable doing this I would pass it up. I do them because I do speak spanish, believe me if there is even a bit of a barrier between the languages they do need to get a spanish speaking notary. It can be tough.
