Bancserv
Ok I did the search and didn't find my answer. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what Bancserv normally pays. They called me at 5pm and offered $50 for a 9pm closing, overnight docs of about 105 pages another notary had already received the docs but now could not make the appointment. . I got them up some but not as much as I wanted. Slow night so I did it.

Bancserv will pay substantially more than $50 under certain circumstances, though they never want to. The company is a class act -- except that they are inexcusably cheap. I like the people, I like the professionalism, I like the solid payment history. I hate the nickle-and-dime fee structure.

I have worked with them many times. The most important thing is to make sure your have the agreed price on the confirmation. I've done two signings this year where I've agreed one fee and was paid $15-25 less. When I looked on the confirmation, the fee wasn't listed. I now check all confirmations with all companies to make sure it is listed BEFORE I go to the signing. They are very nice to work with, by the way.

In 1998 when I started with them their base fee was $60. For faxed packages they automatically upped your fee to $200.
