Brand new signing agent
I just recently entered this field and became certified. I'm very excited to get started, but at the same time very nervous. I'm anxiously awaiting my first call and assignment. If anyone has any tips I would greatly appreciate it. I'm afraid my nervousness, inexperience will show through when arranging my first signing and talking with the company.

because you didnt read, memorize, and search this forum untill you were blue in the face. alot of people on here get annoyed at new notaries cause the same question is asked over and over.

You are right, sad to say.
You are right. I'm sorry that this happens to the new ones. I hope it doesn't discourages anyone. Just ignore them.

Welcome! There are some basic steps that every new notary public must go through. Please include the two-letter abbreviation for your state to help us help you.
First, you MUST know basic notarizations backward and forward. Study your state's handbook. That's not meant as a put-down! If you can't answer "What's the difference between an ack and a jurat?" off the top of your head without thinking, you're not ready. If you think you can tell a signer of a document which to use, you're not ready.
Second read all the posts on this Forum. Yes, all of them, back to the beginning. Pay special attention to number 33325 (you can use the "Search" button at the top of the Forum to find it.) Most questions you have have been asked and answered many times.
Good luck!

Pay special attention to number 33325 > > Ok, I'm more nervous now than ever! LOL. However, I made a lot of notes and have the information to better educate myself. I have done a few searches on different sites for signing agents in my zip code [20 mi radius] and know of only one that has come up on one site, is that promising?

"Fake it till you make it" sorry that is what MaryKay people tell you. lol
Do try to have some confidence about you, you will probably know more than the borrowers do, so don't worry about that. The SS will know but, still try to be confidant.

Don't feel bad because I'm a new Title Producer or Title/Loan Closer myself. I just received my License to do business in Maryland. So you see, I'm in the same boat you are (no pun intended)
