Chemicals going to my head

Ok so I just got my hair done and I received this very STRANGE call. An individual just called me wanting to know how much I charge for notarizing a mortgage and deed. Ok so I am fumbling because you clearly could tell it wasn't a company of any kind.

During the conversation I received from him that he wants me to notarize these things for a bankruptcy. Can anyone give me a clue of what he was talking about? Can I even notarize for a bankruptcy? If so why would I notarize a mortgage and a deed?

Contents of the documents are not the notary's concern.

Just make sure there is a notary certificate on the document.

Sounds like someone is going to declare bankruptcy and what he wants to do is get the property out of his name to protect it from the creditors. You're fine with notarizing the documents, what the guy doesn't know is if the bankruptcy court gets wind of what he has done and if he's put the house in the name of a family member, the court can overturn it.

As Sylvia said, you don't need to concern yourself with the contents of the documents; you are notarizing the signature.

Thank you both! I just was suprised and you are right, it isn't any of my concern but I wanted to play ethical! I appreciate it!

If he really wants to get away with something, he shouldn't go around blabbing about it to others.
