Have done a couple for them
I recall I had to gently remind them of payment on both occasions. They were about 10-12 days past their terms on both occasions.

I'm waiting payment on a signing done 2/23. I also was contacted last week Thursday and offered $70.00 to do a three hour round trip while mobile. When I got home I had an e-mail confirmation for Saturday. I called and said I had no idea it was so far and I up'd my fee and requested a confirmation of such. He accepted it immediately and never e-mailed the corrected confirmation. I didn't go on the appt., after I made an attempt by e-mail to get the confirmation before the appt. They were upset that I didn't go when they called Monday to see if I closed it. She said "well it shows here that we were paying you xxx"...I said no confirmation, no go. I gave them 6 hours notice on the day before the appt., to get it corrected. Never got anything confirming my fee. I felt so bad but I think others have gotten stiffed going without confirmation for many companies.

nono list
Personally speaking...I do not have a nono list as I haven't had a no pay yet. I have a caution list. I read other's nightmares and am hesitant to accept when I get a call from one, but I take the chance and not turn it away because of someone else's experience. Who knows why they didn't get paid or their fee reduced? No one is perfect. I do know never to accept from Sirinni because 99% of the people posting have nothing but negative.

Re: nono list
Charm,
I am like you. Most have paid me within the time stated. The only one I have gotten stiffed on is Sirinni. I also have one other that I do not accept from (not sure if they are actually around anymore) and that is Door to Door as it took over 6 months to get paid. As far as the others, all have paid me. So my no no list is pretty small so far.

Curious about the document status. Did they arrive?
Thoughts about (other thread, and) feeling badly about the situation...
I think each individual has to do what they are comfortable with.
Everyone has priorities. You have a small child and a hubby you must consider in addition to the business. If there were no confirmation and your family requested your time, that's as significant as an assignment commitment, IMHO.
90% of the time I am not scheduling around anything except other assignments. I might have gone on and done it because my priorities are different.
However, if it was not one of my solid clients, I probably would have contacted the title co. or lender and asked them to commit to my fee in a confirmation if not paid by SS since I got no response from the SS.
However, when my kids were not adults and my husband was alive, little else took priority over my family commitments, so I consider family time a valid consideration if you have no proof of getting paid or having the assignment. (I think you mentioned being with family upon not getting your confirmation in other post?)
One thing you might have done which will help future bwrs is to let the lender know why you did not go. This may help them apply pressure on the title company to use a more dependable signing service in the future.
Finally, the rest of the businesses in the chain do not agree to their part without written agreements, right? SA's should have that right as well.

thanks for the advice Brenda...the clients recieved the docs. It's not a solid client and still waiting payment for one in Feb. I would have contacted the title co or lender, but had no info for anything. Only the original confirmation and the borrowers info. I did let H&R Block know what happened, they seem to understand the dilemma. I was also apologetic and stated I had no contacts to follow up with other than DAC, whom I couldn't get in contact with when I needed to.

Not much else you could do, then, IMHO!

The experience I have had with DAC is par excellent. Payment was received in 30 days, they met my price, and I don't see why you would put them on a "no-no list" if they are doing what they are supposed to be doing.
