Costco has this one for 279.99 too. Ebay's bid starts at $200. It's hard to tell what it will go for though. Buy it now price is $300. My question though is even if a printer has two trays how do you know which printers distinguish betreen legal and letter when printing. I can't tell just from reading the specs. I have been thinking about the HP 1320 tn but now this Brother sounds pretty good and is a lot cheaper. Will it distinquish between letter & legal when printing? Is there specific wording that I should look for to tell if the 2 trays will distinquish and print each size?

I have a Brother HL-5170DNLT 2 trays (500 sheets) 21 ppm 32MB Memory plus 50 sheet Multi-purpose (envelopes etc.) 2- sided printing. It will recognize between letter and legal. I have legal in my top tray and letter in the bottem. I also have a HP (and a Lexmark laser, I don't recommend the Lexmark, it works okay but you need to buy a large capacity tray extra) The Brother works just fine.

Go to www. brother.com and get the 1-800 number and talk to a customer service rep. Thats what I did and they are very helpful. The Brother printers that do that are high end and very pricey.

I have the HL5140 from Staples, added the 2nd tray bought on the internet for about $100. As soon as the computer reads the second tray, your good to go. Configure the File>Page Setup and it should print both.
