Kinkio's vs purchase of laser printer

Please Help, I am certified as of 1 year as a signing agent and being in Southern CA the work is too slow. No experience means No work. I have signed with all the ss on this site. I have not purchase a laser printer because I have not earned the money for one. Would any of you suggest that I go to Kinko's for a while before making a bill for a laser printer , to see if I can get any signings? I would like to update my site as to accept edocs.
Thanks in advance for any helpful information.

Purchase a laser printer. HP sells economical refurbished laser printers on their website warranty included.

Re: Kinko's vs purchase of laser printer

Although I know that some signing agents go to Kinko's to have their docs printed out, it is not something I would do, and I would not use a signing agent who did that if it was an edoc signing.
There is a confidentiality issue here.

Re: Kinko's vs purchase of laser printer-Sylvia, question...

About 6 weeks ago I had mentioned to a notary( that said they "couldn't function" without Kinko's & that all their edocs sent there and just ran in and picked them up). That some of our contracts with SS (i.e. TransUnion) states all this info is to be kept "Under lock & key" and not shown to any one. In a small town such as we have zillions of in Maine couldn't someone at "Kinko's" know the borrower that is doing a refi & "blab" this info to a neighbor or someone and have the whole thing come back to haunt the Notary? I suppose I must just be paranoid but I don't even let my husband look at the docs.

You're not being paranoid

You're taking our responsibility for borrower privacy seriously.

One of the reasons a lot of us are accused of negativity here is that we tell people that they need to make investments of both time and money. You cannot be successful without owning a laser printer.

1: As Sylvia said, the privacy issues.

B: You will pay through the nose to have Kinkos printing all your docs.

iii: You will not have time to take edocs to Kinkos, wait in line, print, pay, then drive to the borrower. Edocs frequently arrive minutes before (or sometimes AFTER) the appointment time.

d: There are times you will need to print docs when Kinkos is not open.

Don't even think of using an InkJet! You MUST have a laser printer.

If you cannot afford a laser printer, don't do edocs until you can. Sorry.

i have a konica minolta 1350w laser printer in my house. i just saw them advertised in south florida for $88.00 at offcie max or office depot. the toners run about $75.00 but you can make a few thousand copys. I have expensive hps in my office and i love this cheap little printer. its very fast and at a great price....

Problem with 1350W is that if you refill cartidges, you have to replaced a chip at the same time. This increases cost of refillig. If you don't replace the chip, print speed is cut by 70%. I prefer the Brother's 5140 for a low cost PCL 6 complient printer whose cartidges can be refilled at a low price.

Re: Re:Minolta 1350w (oops, pressed wrong key. try again.)

Isn't the 1350w a GDI printer? That is, it doesn't have it's own print engine, it uses the Windows GDI interface. This is fine for Windows based documents, but GDI doesn't support PCL so it won't print those types of documents.
