Lenders Signing Service - Santa Monica CA
On 4/20/05, I posted regarding Lenders Signing Service (LSS) and its failure to pay me. At the time, I assumed LSS had gone out of business because its phone appeared to be out of service. Apparently, its phone is working again today. Therefore, all other notaries use extreme caution in accepting assignments from this company as the owner, whose name is Carina, has not paid me and is likely not to pay you as well.

I began by emailing the scheduler, Kelly Charpenet. Kelly told me the check was in the mail. When, after a week, I still hadn't received a check, I called and got the owner, Carina Perry. She informed me that she needed another invoice, which I immediately emailed. When that failed to produce a check, I sent a second invoice. Nothing. Thus, I sent a demand via email followed by another. Still nothing. I tried calling back a week or so later and the phone appeared to be out of service. So, I called the mortgage company who had hired LSS and I reported them as well as posting a warning to other notaries here. This past week, I began calling LSS again because the phone appeared to be working. The owner answered and when I told her who I was and that I wanted to be paid, she alleged she hadn't yet been paid by the lender. So, I called the lender who claims LSS WAS paid and the check already cashed. I called LSS back today demanding payment. The owner claims that the check will go out in the mail immediately. If I do not receive the check this week, I am preparing to use other legal remedies. Have you worked for LSS in the past or had similar experiences?
