Loan Originators
I have been contempleting becoming a loan originator. Any words of wisdom from experienced officers? TIA

if that means the same as a loan officer, then yes!!!! go for it!!!! there's a lot of money with loans no matter how you're dealing with them, whether if you're the loan officer, processor, notary, bank, etc....... but if that doesnt mean the same as a loan officer then i'm sorry, im not sure... :(

All I can say is good luck to you. I was a Loan Officer for 6 yrs before I went full time with my notary business. I was lucky enough to ride the wave of the refi boom, and I did very very well. However, I dont know about your market, but where I am at the refi's have really decreased. You really need to have some good contacts like realators, builders, etc these days. The hardest part I have found is all the vetran realators that produce already have their "mortgage guy" and have no intereste in changing. There are alot of "kickbacks" witch the loan officer give to the realators, which is illegal but it happens ALOT, so you have that to compete with that as well. I got tired of the political nonsense and am now using my mortgage contacts to hopefully market my closing services.
