NSF checks
I have been a notary for 5 years. This last year I have had problems with NSF checks. I know the signing companies need to make a buck but I think the laws are in my favor when they go a bout paying me with a bad check. The latest company is QuickDocs. Is there any one else having problems with this company? How are you handlin them? Is it working?

Consult your local laws regarding Bounced Checks
by giving call to the local District Attorney. If they are dodging you, call and send registered mail demand letter requiring a Certified Check and Overnight delivery to you. If they refuse then drop the hammer on them. They used to pay to schedule, they are obviously having some issues. It seems that a lot of other companies have taken over the lion's share of their outside DiTech business. The above is my personal opinion only and not meant as legal advice in any form or fashion.

Same thing happened to me with QuickDocs...it took several months to get paid and when I did finally get a check (after several messages and phone calls to Jean), it bounced! This had never happened before with them, so I thought it was maybe a fluke did another signing for them just this past January. Well, I still hadn't gotten paid for that when they called last week for another assignment, so I nicely told them that I would like to help them out, but I still hadn't been paid from Jan (& about my other experience)...she was very nice and apologetic and later that day, Jean called & said she had been sick & apologized for not getting me the check, but that it had been sent. Sure enough, I got it a few days later... I guess if you're nice, they feel bad enough to get you your money, but it takes awhile - I guess the turning them down got some attention, too.

Contact them, let them know their check bounced, charge them a NSF fee ($35-50 is my suggestion), plus any fees your bank charged you. and then demand payment in a cashier's check within 14 days....or you'll turn them over to collections and they will incur additional charges.
Send them a registered letter saying the above, and you'll usually get paid promptly....if not, small claims is only $35, and then you can charge additional fees.... just a hassle, but you'll get paid.

NSF fees are regulated by state laws..
You cannot just charge any amount, only what your state allows.

Re: NSF fees are regulated by state laws..
I wasn't aware of that...I think I just went by what my bank charged me in the past....anyway, the process was what I was getting at.
