Notary Signing Agents in Florida?
I moved from NY 5 years ago to Las Vegas and recently became a Notary Signing Agent and love the flexibility of the job (I had worked in the legal profession for 20 years in NY) I have a good friend who also worked in the legal field as a paralegal and is looking to supplement her income since moving to Florida. I suggested that she look into this field in Florida (Sarasota) She thought that all signings were done at the Titile Company, anyone have a response to this?? I happen to like the idea of going to the clients house etc., to do the signings. Thanks for your thoughts.

Florida is saturated with signing agents, especially on the west coast. She will first have to become a notary of course. Obviously not all signings are done at the Title companies, if they were we would be out of work.

Florida is not saturated---the more the agents the better for existing agenst as it creates much needed competition, especially here on the west coast. At $25- 30 per signing, she will do well.

Re: Knotaree...
$25- $30 for a single loan signing, plus $5 maybe $10 for edocs, $35-$40 for a double signing, plus the same if edocs. At least that is what I generally charge. Some people charge more, but they are also replying to messages here all day----so go figure.

Your legs are being pulled, everyone!
"Knotaree" is posting in a way guarenteed to irritate us all and mislead the inexperienced and / or unknowing. Please don't play the game, folks! It serves no purpose except to feed an ego which thrives on creating chaos and discontent.

Instead of feeding the trolls in drips and drabs I prefer to whack them on the head a few times real good then move on, but you are absolutely correct.

I'm sure you are right! Jobs are plentiful just about anywhere is you are willing to work for $3.00 an hour because no one in their right mind will take them.

And as a signing service I would steer clear of those who work for $30 per signing. They obviously have no experience. I hire experience. My rep. is on the line with the title companies and I wouldn't jeopardize that by hiring someone as unqualified as Notaree.
And as a signing service I know how saturated Florida is with signing agents.

I agree with you Sylvia. I once had a scheduler at one of my favorite title companies tell me he called a notary in Florida to travel 2 counties over for a signing. When asked her fee, she said $50. He sent the confirmation over @ $150 and she called and said, "OH I can't possibly accept that!". I asked him "Doesn't it worry you that she was willing to travel 2 counties over and back for $50?" He agreed.

Knotaree is the "anon" from last week
Or at least as far as I can tell. Same IP: 24.73.211.26.
Anyway, this guy is some kind of shill as far as I can tell.
Assuming that he is "anon" from last week. He does not, by his actions and words, seem to have any respect for our value or our role in the process. He has said in the past that we are just "paper shufflers", etc.
Volume does not increase because signings get cheaper. There are *no*, repeat *no*, lenders, brokers or anyone else out there saying "Well, we can get signings for less, lets close more loans." Saying that volume is terrific at a price point for signings is laughable. Price your service based on your value.

Did you ask a third grader for help with that comeback? Do you have the mental capacity to address any point that I made about your asinine "volume is great at this price point" comment.
Get over yourself, since you obviously have no interest in giving us any informatoin about yourself I am going to create your identity for you . I'm beginning to think you are a high school student bored between classes who is practicing his trolling here before going over to midgets.com where he will make posts with titles like "You are *ALL* short!!!! Neener neener neener." Then you will go over to losers.com and with your moderator and message board creator priveleges you will make multiple anonymous and fake name posts praising yourself to make all the other board members feel small and belittled. And your real name is Nerfred Manfred Finklestein.
Enjoy your day, Nerfred.

In response to the fees charged...
Hey, if you're comfortable with charging that much, more power to you. I can see what you mean by signing services giving you more work because you're that one notary that charges less than their base fee...however......I just did a signing on friday with emailed docs, i printed the letter size portion at work but the legal size I had to take to kinkos since I didnt have time to go home and print and make borrowers copies as well.....just for the time spent on the computer and to print only the legal size (72 pages including borrower copies) cost me $45.00. When they called me for the signing I told them $75.........i was hoping to make at least $50 profit because the signing was close to me; I didnt think the copies would be that much...now i know that $35.00 definitely wasnt enough to make, especially for the time spent....hey, you live and you learn. just keep in mind, there's a reason why brokers, mortgage companies, or banks (that don't go through signing services) pay you $350 when you do a signing for them direcly.....because they know how valuable the service is. without us, loans can't close and these people can't make the millions they're making off of borrowers. so cut yourself some slack and charge these leeches a little more, trust me, you'll pat yourself on the back when you see your paycheck!

Re: My minimum
According to the NNA, the minimum fees are as follows: Certified Signing Agent Minimum Fees First set of loan documents $65 Second set of loan documents $35 E-mailed loan documents $85 Cancellation (two hours or less) $35

Be nadvised that is the NNA's suggested minimum fees. They can not set fees. You need to charge what you need to show yourself a profit for a professional service. The NNA's fees could be too low, it all depends on your area, etc. With gas at $2.60 to $3.00 a gallon you need to be real careful about what you charge. Don't believe the $30.00 fee idiots.
