dual tray printer & DSL

Hi:

I am sorry if this question has been asked before. (I am new)....but I have a REALLY nice Lex Mark X 5150, that my husband purchased before he passed away.

He used it more than I did, and it has so many special features.

I keep seeing that we need a dual tray printer, and don't know what to do. I cant afford to buy another... ..could someone explain why we need the trays?

Also I have AOL, but dropped the DSL w/ them a long time again..is that necessary also??

First, the Lexmark X5150 multifunction printer is an inkjet printer which is NOT suitable for use to print loan documents. You MUST have a laser printer, and one that supports PCL5e or PCL6.

To be able to download loan document packages, you don't specifically need DSL, but on dial-up it could be very time consuming and there are always problems with disconnects during large file downloads. Cable or DSL (broadband) connections are really necessary.

The LexMark X5150 is NOT a laser printer it is a inkjet printer and does not have PCL needed to print Edocs. DSL or cable is needed due to download speed. Dial up is OK if you plenty of time to wait for downloads. Some companies will not use you is you do not have High Speed internet.

Re: dual tray printer

Saphire,

You might want to check out my post down below a little under the heading "printer". What I bought is one, a laser printer and secondly PCL compliant. Best of luck.

Another option

is to bookmark this link and keep and eye out for the HP 3330 printers from a company called EBIX. They are the western regional repair center for HP and this printer is PCL compliant, has a laser printer, fax, scanner and copier and if are careful can be had for a song and a dance. I bought one several months ago, had 15,000 prints total through it and was won at auction for 134.00. + shipping. Put a cartridge in, downloaded the drivers and off I went:-)
