question on all purpose acknowledgement

I had to use this as my stamp bled through 2nd page, ect. on original.

I ordered these forms from the NNA and at the bottom of them there is a section called Optional that you fill out about the information and also a box for a finger print.

This is a Military request for divorce, and we wont be able to have enough time for his finger print.

If it's optional, I really dont have to even fill it out do I?

It is my understanding that in California the thumbprint is only required on documents relating to real estate. So, in this case you wouldn't need the print, but as a precaution I would fill out the rest of the "optional" information, so it will indicate what document it is attached to.

The optional section is just that. It is not needed but recommended.

I fill it out whenever I use them. I don't give the client the option and no one has ever refused. Matter of fact they seem to appreciate the extra security.

Susan:

Thanks..do you always get the finger print also?

I just dont have time to get a hold of the guy. They may wonder why I got all the info. except that, but I could get my daughter to explain the time factor?!

When I obtain the fingerprint of the signer(s), I have them place their fingerprint my Journal, I have never had any signer place their fingerprint a notarial certificate.

Why wouldn't you have enough time for a fingerprint? It takes about 2 seconds.

The guy is a jerk and it's a long story, but no where to be found at the moment and she needs to turn this info. in now.

Re: question on all purpose acknowledgement- CaliNotary

The way I am reading it, is that the notary went and did the signing, and before sending the docs back noticed that her seal had bled through, and so attached a loose acknowledgment, and probably does not have the time to go back and get the thumbprint on the loose acknowledgment, which makes sense.
If she was there doing it, then it wouldn't make sense that there was no time to take the thumbprint.
