AKA Statement question

On the AKA statement the borrower(s) sign the top as their name appears on all the loan docs and if there are any deviations from that name they acknowledge those AKA'S correct?

They give a sample signature next to each name prefilled on the doc ~ signing as each name reads. It is possible that the borrower may claim to never have used a particular AKA in which care I have had them single line through the name and initial it (after getted the ok from the SS or whoever hired me). I say this because you are notarizing this form and they are taking an oath in regards to what is on that document.

But do you have them fill in any variations of their name (such as Bob for Robert if they frequently use that) or only go with what is pre-filled out?

In simplistic terms, yes. However, there are many variations of the AKA Statement, Name Affidavit/AKA Statement, Same Name Affidavit, etc. etc. etc. Some do require a "sample" signature that corresponds with each name variation. Some only have a statement that all the names are the same person. Some require the signature of the signer to be notarized (some as acks, some as jurats) and some don't require any notarization at all. Over the course of time, you will see many of these various variations in a variety of ways.
