I WOULD LIKE TO APOLOGIZE FOR THE RUNNING ARGUMENT THAT SEEMS TO HAVE ERUPTED BETWEEN SONYA AND MYSELF. I NORMALLY DON'T ALLOW MYSELF TO BE DRAWN INTO THOSE DEPTHS BUT TONIGHT, FOR SOME REASON, SHE REALLY GOT UNDER MY SKIN. I'M USUALLY A BETTER PERSON THAN THAT.

I'd say you should keep your hands off the keyboard until you figure out how the shift key works and learn how to type properly. TYPING LIKE THIS IS NOT PROPER ON MESSAGE BOARDS.
I'd also suggest that you refrain from criticizing other people's spelling (as you did in a different post) as you apparently can't even spell the word NOTARY correctly. All you've managed to do is make yourself look like a fool.

Wow Sonya, that is COLD and arrogant. I also just have to say, your spelling is atrocious and your typing is sloppy. (how did you get through law school?) I don't think it matters if you have clerical help for anything--what YOU type and post reflects on you. If the people on this board aren't important enough to waste your time on, you should probably discontinue posting here. Most of us really appreciate the help & information viewed here. I also usually get a good laugh any number of times during the week because most everyone has a great sense of humor.

Intelligence has nothing to do with spelling. Einstein was a horrible speller, he also was dyslexic and did not start talking until he was three.
So, yep, I am a horrible speller. But does that make me a bad attorney or bad person? I think not. I am not going to post on this topic anymore as it does not matter what people think of me. We live in a capitalist society. People will still work for lorin. Just like SS will keep calling me bacause they need attorneys for certain signings. Perhaps I overreacted, but I have strong lines of what is fair and right or wrong and no-one should try to cheat me or there is going to be hell to pay.
Extreme, probably, but that is what makes sonya sonya and why I love sonya and so do a million other people.

As a legal secretary, my heart goes out to your *clerical help* who have deal with you on a daily basis -- btw, if that's all you consider them to be is *clerical*, YOU aren't good enough to have them.
FYI, there is a shortage of GOOD legal secretaries nationwide, so don't feel you are doing your staff any favors by furnishing them a *clerical* position -- at a drop of a hat, they can and will be gone onto much greener and more pleasant working conditions.

You are right on. To talk to 'her girls' in that condescending way is insulting and suggests they are about as replaceable as a pencil. Your staff, Sonya, is your FOUNDATION and without them the way you present yourself is hideous. I bet if your staff were posting for you, we might all take you more seriously.
They would NOT have made the gross errors that you have, not just in spelling, but the entire way you've presented yourself. I'll be willing to bet they have a heck of alot more class than you do.

I'm assuming that I am the one you're going after.
As for me being jealous, intimidated or insecure because YOU are a lawyer -- wish on. I've been dealing with attorneys for 20+ years and own my own legal secretarial business targeted to attorneys, so it's obvious that I don't hate *all* lawyers -- just ones like you who I refuse to work with, but that I have no problem standing up to.
BTW, you can tell your *clerical staff* GIRLS, that you've met a live one who is anything but one of your girls.

You're right Sylvia. She's definitely the one with issues. All my years of dealing with attorneys I've found, and most will second me on my observation, is that the more educated they are, the less common sense they have. This one definitely needs a window in her belly button so she can see out.

Actually I worked on a project with Sandra Day O'Conner and she was a worse speller.
I am wainit for people to finish eating crow and to admit that they verfied that I was a lawyer. Google anyone? ABA website.

I am a licensed attorney who has civil and criminal legal experience. I have mediated on-line consumer disputes, civil, family and divorce issues successfully. **
I can't say that I'm impressed. I still can't imagine why any attorney would not wish to be puslished in MH.

Honestlly and seriously. The ABA is enough for me. I belong to several divisionsof the ABA and its time-consuming. Martindale and Hubbell is good, but I do not need to join another organization, I do not have the free time. My husband is a doctor and does not belong to the AMA.

Oh, yeah, my secretary is a way better speller than I am, she is also more organized. She covers for me a lot and picks up a lot of pieces that I might let fall, so I pay her well. But, can she write a 50 page legal brief or go into a court room and make a convincincing legal argument? Nah! it is not happening. We all have our special talents and stengths. Even though I often tell my seceretary she should go to college and law school because she is so smart.

I would not trade Mrs. Lake(Kat as she wants to be called) our Legal Secretary for 10 attorneys. She has been with us for 10 years now as far as i am concerned Kat is Senior Management at our agency. I trust her with any business dealing what so ever. I am ever so thankful she quit a downtown law firm and came to work with us 10 years ago. Not only is she a very trusted co-worker she is a very dear friend. Just a thank you to all Legal Secretaries everywhere.

Actually, the chief judge is a mentor and refers to me and several other young attornies as her 'girls' It does not bother me. But when you are not hypersenstive, such minor matters will not bother you.

BTW, if tyou ever want to find out if a person is am attorney go to the ABA first, most lawyers are members. ALso, gggole people you will find a lot about them.

I worked for attornys for years and if you are an attorney as you say, God help your clients. Every attorney and firm I know of in NY is in Martindale-Hubbell. It defies logic not to be. I thought you had to go back to work about 2 days ago. Great plug for the ABA, I'm sure they are thrilled to have your endorsement.

Again another example of a lay person thinking they know so much. I could give you a list of at least 20 lawyers including judges and prosecutors that are not listed. Martindale is a voluntary listing organization. The ABA is way more powerful and much more effective with lobbying congress.

Hmm I went to the ABA website and did a lawyer search. Guess what? You do a lawyer search and it links to the Martindale.com laywer locator, and if you put in Sonya's name, there are no listings.

Hmmmm. that sounds weird. i tell you what I am going to go take a nap, when I wake up and get to my travel destination, I will post my bar card # aas well as my ABA ID # and it will point you towards verfying that I am an attorney. I know that a lot of website are not user-friendly, but try looknig me up under licnesed attorneys in Connecticut as well. Just go to their judicial website.
I do not have time to scan my birth certificate, Ss card and driver's license cuz I am sure that you will need that next as I continue to fascinate you.
