The Maryland market is somewhat different
than many markets in the country because it requires a rather timely and costly Title Producers license. If you have such a license, you would better be served asking those in Maryland this question:-)

Re: The Maryland market is somewhat different
However, I think if there are less work nationwide that would be the same in Maryland regardless if state req.

Not sure what that statement means, but what I am sure of is if you don't have a Titlte Producers license, that eventually there will be NO signings for you as the state will shut you down. Do you have a license is the question????

I am no expert in Maryland or anywhere else
But these are some suggestions
1. Market in some areas you may be overlooking, jails or prisons, hospitals, resorts or hotels, and adoption agencies and try to scare up some general notary work.
2. Market heavily to Title Companies, especially out of state
3. Consider supplementing your signing with drive by inspections and maximize your travel when you go into any geographical area. http://www.sofi-usa.com/

Best of luck and I hope things turn around for you
I was under the impression that your market was quite good since so many SA's did not bother to go to the trouble and expense of being licensed

Well I appreciate all the feedback
and I will keep a close eye on their account. I never researched them as my sister has done work for them for some time, and they always pay to terms:-)

Read your confirmation very carefully. The last time I worked for them (2001) the confirmation stated that I would be paid upon "close of escrow". Every signing I ever did for them did not fund due to some fraudulent activity with the title co. Now what is particularly interesting with this company is that if there is a no sign, no fund their policies held for a 50% fee. They never offered even that recompense. If all goes well, you will be paid upon funding, but if there is a snag you may very well get nothing. So read your contracts and confirmations VERY carefully with this company....They do not honor their printed word either.

Terri thank you for the feedback
I will take your advice and keep and eye on them. I am a short plane flight away from those who might choose to not pay me. For those still in business they Will have to say to my face why they are not living up to their commitment, not a pleasnt choice on their part:-)

THey are one of the few signing companies around that are professional, have docs on time and pay in a timely fashion. I would recommend emobilenotary.com.
