Any states require blue ink?

Do any states require blue ink? I know several TC that want blue, but do any states require blue for recordable documents?

I've gotten in the habit of asking on everyone I do. Some companies are blue and some are black. You really need to ask.

I have one company that I work for that requires the refinance docs be signed in Blue and then the HELOC in black.

Re: Any states require blue ink? - Michigan

Betsy,

You should know that that company's requirements with respect to blue ink may well be contrary to Michigan law. If the requirements are just that the signatures have to be in blue ink, that is not a problem. However, everything else has to be in black ink. This is pursuant to an MCLA (Michigan Compiled Laws Annotated ) statute from 1997.

This issue has been discussed before on the site if you are interested in looking into it further.
