Backdating "lost docs.....Anon/NJ

Docs did not make it to title co. EOM hurry on my part, no Fedex tracking #. Title co wants me to re-sign. No problem w/that but title co wants original date. Any clarification is appreciated.

You should know the rules.. Hope you are insured in case the loan does not fund.

I found myself in a similar situation a few months back. Explained to SS I would not "backdate" and he (backed up by others on this board, if I understood correctly) said it's technically not backdating ... but I wouldn't do it. SS said he understood and hoped I wouldn't against him for asking, but the TC requested it. They paid me an additional fee for the second trip.

What was most interesting about the whole thing was that when I checked in our local recording venue, it was the ORIGINAL Deed which was filed -- NOT the resign!
