Forgive me I don't mean to be nasty but couldn't resist, not toworry you will have plenty of time to project and analyze while your waiting for the phone to ring.

Ha! Ha! I think it would be hard to make a plan until you got into it a bit and had an idea of what to project.

Anon, are you a premier member? If so, you can search the forum and there's lots of posts about business plans that contain good information. If you're not a premier member and can't search the forum, you should sign up - it's the best $39 investment you could make.

Go to www.sba.gov there is a wealth of information there. And... YES... you do need to write a business plan. sba.gov will walk you through it. There are other sites too. It is imperitive that you go through all the steps of putting together a comprehensive business plan... so then, if you take a $50 signing you will know why. You will understand that you are taking a loss and it is ok because you have a plan in which you will come out ahead at the end of the year. Without a plan, you are just "hunting and poking in the dark" and have no idea where you really stand financially.

Re: DID ANYBODY WRITE A BUSINESS PLAN? YES!!!
I can't say I do for my home business. I believe that if I am going to commit time and money to start a business I had better know what I am doing. So I do not start home businesses Istart real businesses and YES emphatically I write a business plan for my business and for my profit centers. I have a very simple outline for a business plan and then just flesh it out. There are wseveral improtant thing s about a business plan that one needs to keep in mind.
You should start the moment you conceive the business and write down all of your anticipated variables. From that moment on update your business plan as you go on a regular basis. YOu will find that your ideas, concepts, and perceptios change as the business starts to come thogether. Remember it is a plan, it is a living document that shows you where you wanted to go, where you've been, and hopefull some direction into where you want to go. How will you ever iknow that youa re successful if cna't define what success is??

It *is* a living document and sometimes knowing where you were wrong in early drafts is more useful than where you were right.
