Exactly what IS a "mobile" notary public?

I hate to appear stupid -- but aren't we ALL "mobile" notaries public? (This questions is asked in filling out the profile here at NotaryRotary.)

Or, is this directed only to those SAs who are set up with printer/fax/e-mail while IN their vehicle?

Thanks.

Nope. Notaries are not automatically 'mobile'. You could be a notary public who sits at your desk, and has the public come to you.

In that case, you would charge your state mandated fee for notarizations.

A mobile notary offers the public the additional service of coming to them....and can charge travel fees on top of the normal fees.

A CT Notary can charge 35 cents/mile to go to signer/ nm
