Fedx release
Appt was set for tonight at 5pm. Fedx didnt deliver because the mortgage company didn't authorize to release w/out signature. Can't pick up until 6:30 to 7pm tonight. Called TC. She was not happy that I didn't have a signature on file. Told her I've NEVER had a loan package that was sent that had not been signed so it could be left at the door.

Sometimes you can get Fedx to give you a location where you can pick up the docs off the truck. I had that problem till I set up with Fedx to deliver all packages.

I recently put my signature on file with Fed Ex...
You can fill it out on that door tag that they leave. It states that they can deliver all future deliveries without signature.

I wanted to sign a release form with Fedex recently and they wouldn't let me because they said due to a change in their procedures, they are going to be doing away with the release auth. as of Sept. 1. Might want to check into that.

My Fedex guy told me the same thing. He said within a month, all packages will be left at the door automatically unless the sender pays extra for a required signature.

Yep. And now, when you complete airbills online, there is a new dropdown list for signature requirements. For now, you don't have to choose an option, but I was told that next month you have to select one of the options (from their site):
Signature type You may choose from the following types:
* Deliver without signature. Authorizes FedEx to deliver your shipment without the recipient signing for it. When you select this option, you waive your right to hold FedEx responsible for any resulting claims. (Not available for FedEx Express Freight.)
* Indirect signature required. FedEx obtains a signature from any person at the delivery address or from any person at a neighboring address. The recipient can also leave a signed FedEx door tag authorizing release of the package without anyone present.
* Direct signature required. FedEx obtains a signature from any person at the delivery address and reattempts delivery if no one is available to sign for the package.
* Adult signature required. FedEx obtains a signature from any person at the delivery address who is at least 21 years old and who has government-issued photo identification as proof of age. FedEx reattempts delivery if no one is available to sign for the package.
