General acknowledgements

I had a closing yesterday and in the package were six - mind you - six acknowledgements. They asked me to use them because "there are a lot of places that need to be notarized". Well, I am not one just to fill them out especially if there is the proper wording and place to notarize, place my seal, etc. on the docs. I thought this was kind of strange. I didn't fill any of the acknowledgements out because I was able to do my duty where it needed to be done. Any one else ever have this happen to them?

Yes, several times and I ignore all loose certificates included in the package. Seems to be happening alot lately.

Wouldn't it be illegal to sign blank acknowledgements without attaching them to a document? How would we know what they are going to use them for? They could attach them to anything.
