Gotta get some cheap pens..
Because they write so easily, I carry blue and black gel pens. Makes it a lot easier for borrowers who don't press hard to get a good dark signature. Problem is, several times borrowers say "oh, these are nice pens, can I have it ?" I think they think the lender supplies the pens. I've given away a half dozen this month. Also, actually had one borrower try to hand me a different pen !! the old swith-a-roo.

I use to carry around really nice pens, same response...."Oh, nice pen...can I have it?" So, I went to Walmart bought 2 packs for $0.32/pack. Nobody wants them now.

Staples has bags of papermate stick pens 50 for 3.98. A little more expensive, but better quailty, lasts longer and still, no on asks for these because they aren't big and fancy.

I have started ordering pens through National Pen. I just received a shipment of 325 customized pens for only $150. People love'em and I'm glad to leave them behind. I've received three calls for general Notarizations since I started handing them out a month ago and my Title Cos like to get them too.

Both my sister and I have been trying to decide which type
If you don't mind which type did you choose, and what did you do on the blue vs black issue. Many of the pens I like, do not seem to come in blue ink???? Tia:-)

I still like my Pilot P-700 .7mm in blue and black.

Re: Both my sister and I have been trying to decide which type
I get the "contour" pen with blue ink. I do carry plain black pens if instructions call for black ink.

Re: Gotta get some cheap pens..and
When I do let them have pen, I always say "next time you talk to your LO, tell him what a great job I did" and leave them a business card.

Re: Gotta get some cheap pens..and
Art, I also enjoy using the gel pens, but like Dogmonger, I find they smear too easily.
After a long hard search for the "right" ball point (nice dark lines that lay down real easily, no globs or smears, good color, nice feel in the hand, etc.) I've settled on Papermate medium point FlexGrip Elite pens with anti-bacterial protection and Lubriglide ink. They're available in both stick and retractable versions - the sticks are available for $8.99 per dozen at Staples online. You can even get ink refills for them from other online vendors. They're a little thicker and nicer than the bargain basement cheapies, but not so nice that people try to pull the ol' switcheroo on you.
