Logging in loses which messages have been read

Is anyone else having this problem? Every time I login, all the messages show as being unread. If I don't login, I can come and go as I please and can always tell which messages are new. But as soon as I login, everything looks new even if I just read everything.

Is there a way to stay logged in even after you close all browsers and then come back to the site later? Now that we have to be logged in to post, it's so much harder to keep track of unread messages.

Anyone have any ideas for me?

Always log in then it shows which ones you have read while logged in.

Each time I login, everything is wiped clean. It doesn't go back to the way I left it when I last logged in. I have no clue which ones I have previously read.

Is that how it works for everyone? That is so frustrating. I prefer to stay logged out and just not post.
